Most of them are great anti-oxidant sources and provide many essential nutrients your body needs. All of these foods are good, but I narrowed it down to my current top 5:

#5.  Quinoa

Quinoa is a grain crop grown primarily for its edible seeds, and is nowadays regarded by many as a superfood.

Its unique nutty flavor and couscous/rice-like texture make this extremely small seed something quite special. It has been around for a while, and was domesticated 3,000-4,000 years ago for human consumption. Even back then, it was considered as an essential ingredient of the diet. Biologically speaking, it is a kind of pseudo-cereal, but at the same time also related to beetroots and spinach. Its protein content is very high, and according to nutritional evaluations, it can be considered as a source of complete protein.

Quinoa is an excellent source of dietary fiber and phosphorus, and is high in magnesium and iron. It is also a source of calcium, and thus is useful for vegans and those who are lactose intolerant. If that isn’t enough already, it is gluten-free and considered easy to digest. NASA is even considering using it as a crop in the Controlled Ecological Life Support System for long-duration human occupied space flights.

Any musician or music lover in general, is surely aware of those great rock drummers who have defined the standards and turned music to what it is today. You may not know them by name, but you know for sure about “that drummer from Led Zeppelin”, “that guy from The Police’, or “Dude, have you heard Dream Theater’s drummer?!”

Even if in the end of the day, it is a matter of taste and personal preference, there is no denying that these drummers have earned their place in history’s hall of fame, and made a significant contribution to the world of rock drumming as we know it.

However, being a drummer myself, I am extra aware and attentive to the drum parts in each and every piece of music that reaches my ears. If a find the drum parts interesting in any way, I usually look up the drummer and learn about them. So with all the great respect and appreciation I have for the “classic” all-time rock drummers, I have developed my own personal “favorite” lists. Each of the drummers in it has done something, drumming-wise, that inspired me, influenced me, or helped me develop my drumming in a way.

In no particular order, here are my current top 5 drummers of the 2000’s decade:

#5.  Thomas Pridgen

Born in 1983, this guy won the Guitar Center Drum-Off at age 9. At 10, he was already the youngest recipient for a Zildjian endorsement in the nearly 400 year history of the company.

At age 15, he received a 4-year scholarship to Berklee, after which he had already done some studio work with several Bay Area artists. The rest is pretty much history for this guy, as since then he just kept on playing, and hasn’t stopped.

He’s toured/recorded with various artists, including The Mars Volta, The Memorials, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, and recently Suicidal Tendencies, and played several clinics. Thomas is naturally left-handed, but plays the drum kit as if he is a right-hander. This actually sounds quite suitable to his creative and precise, sometimes-frantic, and very versatile drumming style… Seeing this guy is truly an amazing experience.

Since I can remember myself watching movies, there has always been a great deal of buzz around the horror genre. Most of them feature some kind of ultimate horror villain who is responsible for making the movie such a memorable thing. These characters are exactly those who cling to your mind after the movie is over, and they are what you see when you close your eyes before falling asleep. Eventually, these are what make those movies reach their cult status.

These are my top 5 horror movie villains of all times, that currently come to mind, with no particular order. To me, they don’t have to necessarily be the most horrifying characters. They just have to appear in the right place in the movie, and create that small chill sensation, that startles you or makes you skip a beat:

#5.  Pinhead (Hellraiser)

This rather scary character, leader of the Cenobites, is the main protagonist here. He is basically around to harvest human souls.

A very powerful, intelligent and articulate foe, you do not want to run into him in a dark alley. Or anywhere else, for that matter. Especially when he uses his supernatural powers to summon hooks and chains, for example, to mutilate his victims. In general, his robotic figure and distinctive appearance, with his facial piercings and all, make him quite recognizable from a distance. Good thing he only exists in the movies.

“Indeed, all of us have heard of such theories – some of us happily accept them, feeling a part of something bigger, while others immediately dis or debunk them.There have been many of these throughout history, in topics ranging from religion, through technology and weapons, and all the way to paranormal activity. The following are the conspiracy theories I currently like the most, in no particular order:

#5.  “Paul Is Dead”

The urban legend suggesting that Paul McCartney of the Beatles died, and was secretly replaced by someone who looks like him, started circulating in late 1969, three years after his supposed death in 1966.

It all began when American college students published articles claiming that clues to McCartney’s supposed death could be found among the lyrics and artwork of the Beatles’ recordings. The clue-searching went viral, and within a few weeks it became a worldwide phenomenon. Among the clues published in the article, you can find the famous explanation behind the Abbey Road album cover: All four Beatles members appear crossing the street, resembling a funeral procession: John dressed in white, like a clergyman; Ringo, the mourner, dressed in black; George with jeans, like a gravedigger; And Paul walking with them, wearing no shoes, indicating he was dead.

Also, there is the famous “Turn me on, dead man” message that could be heard if you play the song “Revolution 9” from The White Album backwards, and the “I buried Paul” sentence that could be heard at the end of “Strawberry Fields Forever”.

These have been refuted on several occasions, specifically in an interview with Lennon, in which he said the phrase was actually “Cranberry sauce” and that there aren’t any backward messages. The rumors have declined after an interview with McCartney in life magazine in November 1969, and the band members have issued a statement referring to the gossip as “a load of rubbish”. Nevertheless, the theory has made a strong cultural impact, and references are still being made to it, many years afterwards.
